The idea of setting your 2021 goals may seem overwhelming, but these five easy tips are here to ensure that you stay on track and crush your year.

Did you manage to achieve your last year’s goals? If not, don’t panic, it’s perfectly normal. When deciding on your goals for 2021, it’s helpful to think back on what you were capable of achieving and how you set last year’s goals. This will help you realize your strengths and weaknesses, and how you can improve for the year to come. Were your goals attainable, timely and realistic? Did you ever get stuck with your last goals? What kept you motivated and what made you unmotivated. What could you have done better? What should you focus more on this year? Take a moment to think about this before you get planning!
TIP TWO
The year of 2021 will highlight our personal growth and how we can be our best selves. You can start out with your planning by going back to the question “who are you and who do you want to be?”. Start by creating a list of your shortcomings while trying to be as objective and open minded as possible. Asking your friends and family for some input may be a good idea! Then, find a few ways to improve or change those sides of yourself. We all have the power to change and while it may take time and be challenging, it is always worth it.
Next on our list is improving your personal relationships. There is no denying that struggles with our families, partners or friends appear from time to time and while that is perfectly fine, thinking about how you can improve these relationships can have a very positive impact!
TIP THREE
If anything, we can all agree that 2021 should be the year of improving your health and wellbeing. A healthy diet can never go wrong, so remember to consume your fruits and vegetables and of course a lot of water! Next on the list is reducing screen time. Did you know that more screen time can lead to sleeping problems and loneliness? Try putting away your phone every now and then and go for a walk, read a book or spend some time with friends and family instead.
Life is precious and meant to be enjoyed and for that reason, self care and the importance of including it in your daily routine is something to include in your 2021 goals. Here are some ideas; treat yourself, have a pamper session, take a bath and meditate.
TIP FOUR
How often do you hear yourself say “I wish I could speak that language” or “I wish I could do that”? In most cases, you can do anything you set your mind to. And what better way to start off 2021 with the goal to acquire a new skill? If you’d like to learn a new language, hundreds of platforms offer free online lessons – we recommend Rosetta Stone or Duolingo. Are you interested in cooking but not feeling the culinary confidence to try something new? Make it a goal to try cooking a new dish from a different cuisine once a week! The internet is filled with delicious and creative recipes, so throw that apron and get inspired! Feeling hungry? Check out the Mapiful Kitchen for some easy sweet treats!
TIP FIVE
It’s extremely important to reward yourself when you have completed your weekly or monthly new year goals. Find a way to reward yourself that works for you. Enjoy an at home spa day, watch a couple of episodes of your favorite show guilt-free, or even better order in for dinner and simply have some me-time.
